Stop Signs and Red Light cameras:

One more thing- with red light cameras, especially in Plano- if you turn right on red without coming to a complete stop or 'churn' as they call it, you will set off the sensor and have a ticket for running a red light.

have you thought about contesting the ticket?

My wife had a ticket for not making a full stop at red signal light before making right turn. It was issued by a company who manages camera for Irving city. Her car slowed down to almost 1 mph before attempting to make a turn. Camera showed the same in evidence and we got the ticket canceled.

If you decide to not contest, you can still take defensive driving course and pay admin fees to the city. This won't go on your driving record and won't impact insurance rates. That's what I was told by City of Frisco Police Department.

Original poster said it was at a stop sign, so it wasn't an on-camera ticket.
