Bummer on the school location. That's not really a convenient place given where you will be!

Welcome to DFW from the spouse of another UTSW/Parkland trainee. Personally, we love Coppell, but that definitely isn't going to work with your school situation. Others have provided pretty good advice.

I like the Addison area as I lived there for a year before buying in East Dallas (Lakewood Heights). You would have about a 30 - 40 min commute during rush hours. You could take Inwood/Midway/Marsh south or the Tollway for your commute. Getting East for the school would take about the same amount of time. I lived next to the Galleria at the 635 and the Tollway so I had easy access to the major highways, and close proximity to restaurants, stores and most everything in the DFW.

Another suggestion is living in East Dallas, which would also split the commute between you and your wife for the school. Lake Highlands is also a good suggestion as you could use roads instead of the highway for commutes during rush hours. Generally, I avoid the highways during rush hour and find that I can get to and from Addison area and East Dallas in 30 min. My daughter is still in school / day care until we can get her into an option closer to our house.

Welcome to Dallas. What field is your fellowship? I highly recommend Noodle Wave in Richardson for a Halal Thai meal. One of our go to Thai restaurants.
