We are relocating to Dallas in a few months and researching an area to buy a home based on the schools. It sees like the Plano ISD is one of the best in the area, however all three of the senior high schools have very low ratings on GreatSchools.com and SchoolDigger.com. I know the information on those sites isn't gospel, but I'd like to know if there is a reason for it. I've asked our realtor about this and she wasn't aware of the rating. Any insight anyone can provide would be appreciated!

Great Schools and schooldigger.com should be ignored completely IMO. Plano schools are among the very best publics in the metroplex, further PISD is one of the very best larger districts in the country.

PISD had 78 National Merit Semi-Finalist last year, excellent SAT, ACT - scores and participation rates, IB and college readiness etc.

Class of 2014 Post-Secondary Readiness Tops in State & Nation / News Archive : Plano ISD

I'd argue PISD's results page more or less shows GS and school digger are broken.

You do have to be careful about the school progression some of the middle and high schools are weak compared to others.
