Can you suggest and share your experiences about the big flee markets that are within 2 hours of Dallas? I have heard of Canton and read a lot about it online, then I was told about Traders Village in Grand Prairie recently. I love to have unusual things. What are your recommendations? suggestions on what else to do on the way or around there too. Which one has more junky than nice things, etc. Thanks,

You have definitely got to try Canton. If you really want to see EVERY booth, it's a 2 day affair. But you can do it in one long day if you want. I've done it both ways. Also, McKinney has Third Monday Trades Day (it's held the weekend BEFORE) the 3rd Monday. Smallish and eclectic, takes a few hours at the most but I have found a few bargains in the past.

There's a flea mkt in Fair Park about once a month or maybe it's quarterly called Buchanan's. I only notice it when I see the signs being posted - they just had one two weeks ago.

OMGosh...definately Canton! First Monday Tradedays I thought were the oldest flea market in the country??

Here is a link for ya -

First Monday Trade Days Flea Market Canton Texas shopping guide

My aunt and uncle from Colorado were going to come all the way just for it! So it is really well known on the flea market curcuit (if there is such a thing).

We went last summer and it was REALLY big and a lot of fun!
