Old farts like me used to have a saying:

"The ones that talk about it the most are doing it the least."

What is an M series, anyway?

//M for Motorsports (BMW Motorsport GmbH). BMW offers modified //M versions of nearly every model they make. It usually comes w/ a higher performance engine, sports suspension, bigger brakes, tweaked interior and seats, and various cosmetic changes. And of course, a higher price tag compared to the "normal" models in the same series.

Most people lease their cars so era of judging people by the worth of their rides is long gone.

What a silly thing to say! Everyone is judged at first glance, and it cannot be otherwise.

I was trying to explain leasing to my 5-year-old son today (there was a commercial on the radio), and I could not think of anyone I knew who had ever leased a car.

Based ON. Based ON. You cannot base something OFF of anything. Gravity ensures that.

I can tell a lot by the way you act and write.

Another ridiculous and baseless assumption here on C-D. First, plenty of extremely wealthy people lease. I leased my car, because I know I'll want a new one in a couple years. There are plenty of reasons to lease a car.

Secondly, a lease on a nice car can still run $1,000 or more easily. When I was looking at cars, an M4 lease was around $980 a month. Start going up to a 7-series or any number of the really nice cars on the road, and you're upwards of $1800+ a month. You've got to have money somewhere to afford that.

Just got back from a crazy, fun night! I would only hope that Dallas proper can somehow "get it" and be more like this some day. I'd gone out here a few times, but hadn't known the "scene" (really) until I asked an old coworker friend of mine who frequents the area... Even coming from Uptown, I was impressed honestly

SURE... showing up after a late night gym session at LifeTime at Legacy/Preston and driving up and getting valet service in a BMW M series(waxed)... helps...err... "plays into" the Dallas stereotype LOL... but no douchey suit and tie here(not my style, especially considering I ACTUALLY HAVE to wear that to work during the week), just a casual or "comfortable" polo and khakis here for me lol

But this area... or "scene" is/was fun. It is suprisingly "walkable" and reminds me of a smaller version of midtown Houston. It has a lot of money, but the $30k millionaire wasn't there, or at least i didn't spot him(or he wasn't alllowed lol)... it was honestly one of the more "laid back" and "fun" areas i've seen in awhile since returning to Dallas. Addison is/has always been a good area too though(in my opinion), but absolutely NOT walkable

let the bashing begin.
Wow, Texas really is as crappy as it seems.
