Hi, I've recently moved here and I was wondering if anyone knew a place in or near Plano to get good white cheese dip -- preferably non-spicy. I don't know if this helps, but something like Marketplace grilled queso is ideal.

Thanks!

Ughhh! I hate that stuff... the only thing I could find in TN!

Treat yourself to On the Border's queso! Great stuff! Mother Mesquite's used to be my favorite but they closed!

I ordered queso at Amigos restaurant on Beltline recently. It was white and too mild. I thought it wasn't very good, but maybe is exactly what you're looking for as we probably have opposite taste!

(I really like this restaurant, just not their queso)

Amigos Restaurant Comida Casera - Richardson, Texas

Heyzak----

If you find white cheese dip ................LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! We decided this weekend we miss that 'food group' the most. We have visited chain and non chain Mexican places in Mckinney, Allen, and Plano, so far no white cheese dip. My neighbor swears by a Mexican place in Richardson--I will be tasting it very soon! The quest is still on..............................

Pancho & Lefty's which is also known as Amigo's in some places has a Queso Flameado that is white cheese and can have fajita beef or chicken added.

There is another place that is new in Rowlett called Maya's Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar. This is "authentic" Mexican food and NOT tex-mex. YUM!!! And their margarita's are GREAT!!! At $15 a pop they better be but then again I had Cabo Wabo Tequila w/ mine Their salsas are NOT HOT! They have like 5 different kinds. Carne Asada sitting on a bed of golden potatoes w/ chirozo in a nice sauce topped w/ red and green peppers and white cheese. VERY GOOD! DH liked the fish tacos.

We love the queso at Petra's in McKinney at 75 & Eldorado. It has chorizo and cilantro, but I wouldn't consider it spicy. I'm sure they could leave it off, if you wanted.

I never heard of white cheese dip but here's another vote for On The Border's queso! It's my favorite with just the right amount of spiciness.

The white cheese is called queso blanco, I've seen it sold in grocery stores here. You could try to make it at home, adding a can of Rotel chile's to it instead of velveeta. I don't think I've had it in restaurants so I'm not sure what it looks/tastes like.
