I’m flying to NY for thanksgiving with friends and his grandma requested a Texas style pecan pie. Any suggestions for where to find some fresh and delicious ones?

If you want to really impress them, make one when you get there. Here's my mother's recipe.

1 cup Light Karo Syrup
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
3 Eggs
1 cup Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
2 Tblsp. Melted Butter
1 cup Pecan Halves
9” Unbaked Pie Shell
Preheat oven to 400°.
In medium bowl, beat eggs slightly. Add all other ingredients except pecans. Mix well. Stir in pecans.
Bake 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350° and Bake 30-35 minutes longer.

Double the recipe cause you'll want 2.

Sams club pecan pies are so good they render most home made ones hardly worth the effort

I’m buying one and thinking of adding the written recipe on a scroll. Thank you fellow posters. Happy Thanksgiving!

The pecan pie that I would most want to eat mentioned in this thread is Rakin's mom's recipe.

I was at Braum's this morning to grab some a breakfast sandwich and noticed they had a sign saying they have pecan pies for just under $6.

I don't know the size of the pie but I do like their food and their dairy products. If you don't want to make one, swing by a location and check out the size. Couldn't hurt and the price is better than my local grocery chain (again, I don't know how big the pie actually is)
