Hello!
Im a 21 year old undergrad. I got accepted to both UNT and UTD for business and have read on the forums that UTD is the better school..
I dont know what to believe. Anyway, I got considerably more financial aid grants from UNT than UTD so I've decided to minimize the debt. Can anyone tell me which parts of Denton would suit me? I want to be close to the University and cant really afford more than $700 a month in rent. Any help is appreciated!! I will be moving sight unseen and trying to find a place online is difficult because I have no idea what the neighborhoods are like. Thanks in advance!!!! Any help is appreciated.

You want to stay close to the University. Try Fry street and around Elm. You don't want to go past Caroll.

I agree that there are lots of apts/rentals around Elm and Fry St. A large number of students also live in some apts near the mall (I think one of them is called pace's crossing), as there is a bus system that goes there, but its not quite as convenient as being able to walk to school. A friend of mine lived in the Arbors of Denton several years ago and its a reasonable biking distance, but not sure how their rent has increased in the past few years since she finished school. Keep in mind there are also lots of duplexes around the university as well.

Forget what you heard about UTD being better - it truly depends on what you are studying. Both have their strengths. And you'll get a good education at UNT in any case.

I agree with this to a certain extent. Unless you are looking to get an engineering degree UTD is not worth it.

True - engineering is UTD's best draw.
