Hi All. I've been looking at townhomes and condos in the area bordered by Love Field Airport to the West, American Airlines Center (35/Woodall Rogers) to the south, Ross/Greenville to the East, and Northwest Hwy to the North (got all that??). I'm looking for a 2 Bedroom, min. 1 1/2 bath for $110-160k. I've found several, but I'm wondering if anyone has knowledge of the best areas for appreciation and or rentals. I plan on being here for 2-3 years and then renting it out. I have access to the MLS and tax records, but that doesn't come close to a real estate investor's expertise. Anyone with knowledge of specific areas in Uptown (Turtle Creek, North Oak Lawn, Katy Trail), the West fringe of Highland Park, the Lakewood condos, M Streets, South Oak Lawn, Greenville, Bryan Place (*Growing neighborhood just north of Baylor Hospital)?

For example: There's a wonderful community called "Bordeaux" that is at Inwood and Mockingbird which features 1950's townhomes on big courtyards. Drawback-- they are super close to Love Field Airport. I know that Love is expanding, does anyone know what this may do to property value? I've been told it's a "developing" area, but tax appraisals on these remained flat last year and the year before grew only 3% which doesn't sound hopeful.

My favorite neighborhoods are off of Katy Trail and North Oak Lawn--I just need help! Am I way off in thinking I can make money anywhere around here? I work in Flower Mound, but I'm a 22 year old single professional and I could never live out there! I don't mind the commute so that isn't a problem. In advance--thank you, thank you, thank you!
