Those of you who live there can you tell me which provider you use? I'm going to be working remotely and will need a high speed internet connection. I was hoping to use Verizon Fios but I checked their website it it doesnt appear its available.

I think that Grande is the only provider there right now (they have an exclusive cable/phone contract with CH). I've been using Grande's cable modem service (they have DSL also) doing a lot of remote access, including 2 simultaneous VPNs with no problems. I've found their network and service techs to be reliable.

There is talk that Verizon will be coming in eventually, but I haven't heard a definite timeline on that.

Thanks TOS,
What about cable providers? Do they have Direct tv out there? It's seems that its a bit of a monopoly with Grande being the only provider out there. Sounds like they are a good company though.

You can get DirectTV or Dish. I see many of the small dishes around, in fact the previous owner of my house had one installed that I have kept in case I decide to switch in the future.

Part of the agreement with Grande is that the HOA dues includes the cost of basic cable (which is applied if you upgrade the package). The HOA dues also include alarm monitoring, so you don't have to pay that either.

Check Clearwire. It's a wireless connection but you'll need an exposure in the direction of their tower. It does have a one year contract.

Where is Castle Hills anyway?

You can also get Sprint wireless modem for your home or laptop. It works great.

Oh, thats cool about the HOA'S covering the basic portion of the cable. The downside for me is I have to have direct TV for the NFL sunday package! I'm a huge football fan.

I'm glad to hear you have 2 VPN'S and everything works fine. If we end up buying in CH I guess we will have to use Grande. I love verizon fios and will miss it.
