I've new to the forum and have been reading through a couple of posts. I am noticing that there is a severe problem with Grand Homes and people that have purhased homes from them. What can you say about builders that are also building in the same communities as them? Do you think that their reputation says anything about the other builders such as:Meritage or Plantation I was interested in Martin Meadows or the Grand Peninsula Communities to name a few

They have a development in Frisco Dominion at Panther Creek where Grand Homes, Darling, Fist Texas and Newmark houses are. I know that Darling homes have a very good reputations. When in doubt go with Darling.

GRAND HOMES are Excellent!
Many home builders have had growing pains and most are willing to "Do What is Right" for the buyers. (even out of Warranty). That has been my experience with Grand Homes, Highland, Darling & Sotherby Homes. These private DFW builders have been in business for a long time and started out very small as true Custom Builders and have expanded tremendously in the past 10 years..just as our sprawling suburbs!

If you don't mind me asking, what city/development did you have a Grand home? Also, were buyers turned off by the negativity against Grand when it came to resale?

Is this an advertisement or something? I mean, you're a real estate agent, so don't you have a vested interest in giving a builder props? "In your experience"... does that mean you OWN a Grand Home - or just sell them?

Yes to both! I just happened into this forum by accident and found it enjoyable...but a bit unfair. I have owned both Grand & Darling and yes I am an agent. My experience has been with mainly older homes as both a homeowner & agent. I will connect with the link for agents. Does Everyone Identify what they do for a living??? There seems to be many EXPERTS out their giving advice...Are they plumbers, accountants working for builders, developers??? Are they school administrators for those talking about the better schools and do not have task ratings to back up??

Hi ,
I read through many complaints about Grand homes on this forum. I still went ahead and signed the contract with them and closed my home just few days back.
On the whole I am very happy and I think they did a very good job. When ever I had any issue the sales person and builder and VP of construction immediately resolved it to my satisfaction.
I do agree there are some ups and downs during the construction process and some times I am not happy with some work but at the end they worked hard, patiently listened to my complaints and fixed the issues.
Also I think since Grand home is custom Builder there may be some issues and I truly believe that they are really working hard to make the buyer happy.

Awful Experience with Grand
I have had an awful experience with Grand and their Warranty process. I believe I am on my 5th warranty person now, within a two year time frame - still having issues - still not resolved-lot of stress - I have a few issues, one being, two holes in my ceiling from a leak still they tell me is not a leak, but water comes out when it rains. Go figure.
