MODERATOR NOTE: If you are recommending yourself or anyone you are associated with, or if you have less than 10 posts already, do so by Direct Message (DM) to the OP only; otherwise, your post WILL be deleted.

Per ToS, recommendations are allowed for posters that have at least 10 posts only. One cannot recommend himself/herself. The only area where recommendations are not permitted is real estate, however general responses, such as "we have many helpful and knowledgeable real estate agents on this forum - just DM them" are fine.

Hmm...it just depends. Right now, there is 247 pages of homes $100K and under, so they are scattered all around the Dallas area. Some are in better condition than others.

Mesquite would be a good place to start. You need to look at most of the burbs in the Southwestern and Southeastern parts of Dallas.

What county? What city? SFR or duplexes and townhomes ok?

I just a quick search in the MLS and there are 762 properties (SFR, condos, etc...) under 100K... in Dallas county alone.

the real question is why
buying a home for less than 100K is not necessarily a good thing...

I dont think people carry $100,000 in cash anywhere.

Investors that want to buy a foreclosure house in Texas do.

I'm sure most of them carry money orders though!

I definitely agree with that one. Many of these homes under 100K and that have been foreclosed on are not in good condition. I definitely would not want a home for under 100K.

I moved into a foreclosed home that cost less than 100K in 2006. It was in pretty good condition and located in a nice neighborhood. After looking at quite a few homes in that price range across the area, there were some that needed serious and/or costly repairs, but there were also quite a few that weren't bad at all. There are definitely deals out there.
