I will be moving to Dallas in October of this year. I have been hearing alot about the different areas like Oakcliff, little elm, grapevine etc.. I have learned about what areas to avoid, what areas are good. The question I have is how can I tell what area is what by the zip code or street? Is there a web site I can go to that will tell me street names, zipcode etc so I can know the different areas in Dallas? Thanks in advance.

If you know a zip code you can look it up in Google Maps. Or look up a zip code map on the internet.

Oak Lawn and UpTown are 75219
The area immediately east of US 75 and OakLawn/Uptown is 75204

You might look up something like Plano city hall, or Addison City Hall to get their address then google the address or zip.

City-Data has a listing of all incorporated city and towns in the U.S. and a map to suit at city-data.com

You can order a mini-map from Mapsco. It only costs $3.50 and it's an awesome tool to have in your car etc. even after you move here. I recommend you get it laminated.

Here you go: Click for a Zip Code Boundary Map.

Type in 75201 (downtown) to get you started and it will bring up a map of the whole area
