I recently moved to the DFW area with my employer, I did not know anyone and left all family and friends back home in Connecticut. It is a huge transition and it will take time to build trusting relationships. I agree with the other post that joining groups and expanding your hobbies is a great way to socialize with others. Finding a great church home is another and has been a blessing for me. For the most part, Texas is a beautiful state and the people are friendly. There's alot of things to do here and the weather is great! I think you will enjoy living here. Have you chosen a location in Dallas? You may want to consider an area like Frisco, Plano, or Arlington.

I think people in DFW are very friendly! Always remember you can do anything you want to do.When you do move kind of let nature take its course. Also, not going to clubs and bars won't work against you.You could easily meet anybody on jobs and other things you come opone.
