Our kids are leaving the house and I am considering a job in Dallas. My wife and I are interested in the urban lifestyle (Manhattan is our favorite place to be!) with arts and ethnic restaurants at the top of our list. What are the better places to live in Dallas if you have these interests?

Uptown Dallas offers the best urban mix in Dallas Uptown Dallas - Main. It is within walking distance of Downtown Dallas and the Arts District Arts District, Dallas, Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The new Center for Performing Arts opens this Fall Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. Uptown has lots of townhomes, condos and apartments. Highrise living is an option if you like that.

Not too far north of Uptown, you might also like the Turtle Creek area. It has lots of luxury highrise condos. Oak Lawn and Knox-Henderson are also nice close-in 'hoods with an urban vibe and a good degree of walkability.

We are also empty nesters and currently building a beautiful home in the La Villita area of Las Colinas. There are several new subdivisions going in Las Colinas which you might like.

It has that very "Uptown" feel but has parks, lakes & a lot of growth. Check it out - you might really like it.

Google La Villita, Las Colinas or if you'd like info on some of the builders there send me a DM.

You aren't going to find Manhattan in Dallas but check out our Arts District:

You might want to consider living in Downtown Dallas.

Thanks everyone! Now I need to do some more research on these neighborhoods to see which is the best fit for us.
