People told me when I moved here from Austin that Dallas is pretentious and everyone is in a clique. I found this hard to believe but, three years later it's obvious that that is the reality.

There are real people and fake people everywhere. Just stay away from those who don't have your values.

Apparently, you're trying to fit in with the wrong crowd, or they just know better.

What part of Dallas are you in? Every time I've been in Dallas or North Texas in the past it has almost always been great. People are friendly and respectful. A few snobs and creeps here and there each time but hey that's everywhere...people in Dallas come from money and are a lot of times set in their ways.

I thought people were far more odd and unfriendly in Austin.

I see... so you are morally superior to the 6 million people in DFW?

I don't think the 6 million have a problem. If anyone has a problem, it's you.

I have another theory... if people don't like you, or let you into their cliques, it's because there's something about you that repels them. Most of us choose our friends somewhat carefully.

I've never met an unfriendly person from Oak Cliff unless someone was a douche to them first.
