Plus I have much more tolerance towards hot weather than cold, so it's a no-brainer which season I like more. Considering that Dallas is one of the southernmost cities in the US, I find it confusing why people would keep hoping for colder weather here, when almost all other cities are even colder.
Actually, I'd say I like it most in the 60s in most circumstances. It does depend on what I'm doing though.

And you assume that people's tolerance to temperatures is the same in both directions from their favorite temperatures. Let's say 70 F (room temperature) is the average. There are people in much colder climates who get out in -30 F and do stuff. It probably isn't pleasant for them but it's definitely tolerable. Even -80 is possible if you're acclimated and well prepared. Now how tolerable is 170 F? Even with no humidity, I doubt a person could handle more than a few minutes in that and that's if they're not active.

Fact is you can prepare yourself for cold temperatures. You're much more limited when it comes to the heat. And to add to that, here it's cheaper to heat your house in the winter than to cool it in the summer. I don't want any more $150 electricity bills. I'll take a $70 gas bill instead.

No frost on the pumpkins yet... We must have had a warm front that moved through in the middle of the night - it only got down to 60 degrees last night.

97 degrees this Saturday was really warm. Sunday I went swimming in the pool. The water was a little cold but not too bad.

Record cold will be possible this weekend. The current forecasted high on Saturday, October 6th, is 54°F. The record lowest high maximum for that date is 55°F set in 2000. This forecasted high temperature is 27°F below normal for that date. Temperatures will be some 30° plus below what the temperature was today (Thursday, October 4th) this weekend.
