Hi,

We moved to the DFW area not long ago and had a baby boy in February. I need to go back to work soon, so we are now looking for a daycare. We used this website: DFPS - Search Texas Child Care

Because the baby is still so little, we wanted to find a home-based daycare for infants, but did not find any in Southlake. I am wondering if I can get any recommendations here.

If you had good experience with any daycare centers, your recommendations would also be appreciated.

We have not excluded the option to have a nanny at home yet, but we are not so confident in a nanny's "qualifications", compared with the daycare providers. Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

I think Southlake's HOAs would have strict rules about a home-based business like a day care if there were several children enrolled...
you might be able to find a mom wanting to watch an extra baby at home--even people in southlake have been hit by recession but I don't know anyone who uses one there...

most of the people I know who have a home-based day care use a relative like a mom or mother in law or sister for that...
used to be someone I knew who did only teachers' children in her home-based day care -- so she could have summers off and vacation time during the year when her chidren were out of school...

where are you working--did you try anyone in that area--might be just as easy to take the baby at least part way to your work area if you can find one...
that site had 49 pages of listings for home based child care in Tarrant county--

read report on this home based daycare
http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Ca...=DC&fid=336445

the problem cited is fairly insignificant when you compare it with problems discovered/addressed at other home-based daycares but it is probably not one that is in your driving range...
or this one that had 0 defficiencies
