It's not going to be comparable to DFW in 10-15 years because DFW is still growing faster than the SA and Austin metro areas combined (and so is Houston).

The bolded is where you're wrong (and I'm not so sure on Aerospace either). Ever heard of the Federal Reserve? And Dallas is home to more financial/insurance companies than San Antonio. Just because a call center was built in San Antonio does not mean that it has become a large financial center. Aren't those jobs near minimum wage anyway?

Believe me there are people that commute between Austin and San Antonio there's one company that my dad was doing business with that had a few people living in San Antonio and driving up here every day to work. So there are people that are doing it how many exactly I don't know I know there's businesses here in Austin that have locations in SA. Also USAA has an offices in the UK and in Frankfurt and Rackspace has offices in Europe so I would think the people that work in their offices in those countries know about SA.

These are city limits though. I was talking about entire metro areas, but thanks for posting it. Still disproves the myth that SA has the largest Hispanic community in the country.

No, I'm talking about companies like Lockhead having a large presence in DFW.

Of course there are going to be people that commute, but it's very few. If there was more, Austin-SA would at least be a CSA right now, but they aren't. The commuting percentages aren't nearly high enough yet.

I know i'm not saying they are but I can see them one day becomming a CSA at the rate both cities are growing

Here's an article talking about the aerospace industry in San Antonio

This census data is just counting HUMAN BODIES. The fact that the city of San Antonio has more than the CITY OF DALLAS really doesn't mean anything. San Antonio is almost exclusively poor, blue collar people. If you took the number of highly educated, higher class people in Dallas versus San Antonio, Dallas would be like 20 times more population!!

Not that it really matters because to me, Dallas has remained the state's 2nd largest city. San Antonio has never posed a threat to Dallas because for one, Dallas is the largest city in the largest metro region in the state.

Compared to San Antonio, it has a larger metro by itself, not even counting the Fort Worth side of the metro. Larger buildings, skylines, economy, Sports, Arts, etc. At first glance, Dallas appears larger. Dallas wins in every other category. It takes more than some city limit count to be a bigger city.

Sorry San Antonio!

Why do some forumers not read all the posts? If this was true, then why does San Antonio have a higher Median Family income than Dallas? San Antonio is a white collar city based on it's industries.

Even if you were correct (which you aren't), I didn't realize poor people were just bodies who didn't mean anything. Elitists like you make me sick.
