An actually decent piece of investigative journalism from the local media... Glad to know all that money was spent on something that almost never gets used, right?

I remember reading somewhere that California's goal was once to get two percent of all vehicles on the road electric by 2000...

Streetlight Tax Moves Forward Despite Objections

Since it's paywall, here's the short version:

Despite having the 2.25% income tax made permanent last May, City Hall still doesn't have enough money. So they've decided to unilaterally impose an "assessment" to pay for the streetlights.

Unfortunately, the two biggest losers in this streetlight debacle are Miami Valley Hospital (whose property was assessed at six times it's market value) and UD, which won't get any of the new streetlights as they have upgraded theirs independently.

Seems like Nan has no problem blowing money on letting the city harbor thousands of illegal immigrants. Dunno where she gets the money...

Will the last one to leave please turn out the lights?

However, this should give you guys a good laugh:
200 pet rats rescued from apartment | Dayton, OH News | www.daytondailynews.com

Apparently some people are very serious about their pet.... rodents. I guess it's not much different than having a hamster or gerbil for a pet.

Typically, anyone who has that many rats also has a pet bird of prey. I doubt that the rats are actually the pets.

Fights Force Early Closure of Montgomery County Fair

Aaaaaand this, like the fights we had at Urban Nights back in May, is why Dayton has such a hard time keeping nice things.

It has closed early in the distant past.
