Acme in Middletown does indeed always have Buttermilk. But if you want a special treat go to the Dutch Farmers Market in Middletown and buy it from the milk/cheese family there. IMHO buttermilk is better out of a glass bottle.

for baking I can live with the supermarket brand pretty good and can not tell about a big difference. but - if I have to DRINK it, I would always go for the amish one.
that's just toooo yummy ! I also like their milk in glas bottles and jars, that's like shopping back in germany

Guess I'll go down and try the Amish farm or the market in Middletown then because I went to four stores (all different ones) in Newark and Elkton and found no buttermilk of any kind.

Thank you! Those bicycle maps are the best, little eggplant! Much better than those ADC maps, I think. The Amish always put signs out at the end of their lanes, as I said. Today I saw "fresh honey" and "goat cheese" signs. When I was a child, a lot of my neighboring playmates were Amish, and we are still friends. They really taught me good work ethic!
