My husband was there last year--he's a Nascar fan, for sure. We're planning on heading up to NJ on Saturday, and we'll have to time that just right to avoid traffic. Hmm...better start planning!

Oh, I agree that we do need the rain. Bring it on! Racers are tough and the tailgating and partying will go on, even in the mud. As for the race being delayed.....nobody misses a beat, and racers adapt to the situation. We're taking a break now, and going back tonight for all the action on the Rt. 13 strip, where there are food and drink specials, special appearances, contests, and camaraderie. Then it's on to the campgrounds to unite with friends from all over, we've met over the years. This morning the campers were grilling steaks and frying onions at 8 a.m.

We were planning on observing some race car action of our own at Atco Raceway, NJ tomorrow, but now we're not sure sure because of the rain

We're hard core Ford people, and we hate to miss the NMRA Nationals up there. I'm trying to convince the husband that we should still go!!

Don't think he's racing. Now he's in Dover, right?

It's been a great 2 days so far, with more to come. Edwards won the 200 race today and there was a big pile-up the last lap. Smaller crowd there today, expected, because of the economy and price of gas. But still, lots of people and good times. We even enjoyed Heluva Good Burgers in the Sports Book/Bar - Casino with some friends. No problems getting out of there and home. After an hour or two, we're heading back. Then, there's tomorrow.

Although it's still a lot of people, I see that attendance at DE Nascar has been in steady decline since 2006. Article in the News Journal about it today.

Have fun, rdlr!! Hope the storms hold off today. We never made it up to the Atco Raceway in NJ yesterday because of the rain
