Hi - I'm new to this forum. We are looking for a house in the Bayview Manor community between Rt9 & 13. Opinions - good, bad, ugly??? Also, any opinions on the builder - Handler Homes?
One follow-up: what do you think of houses closer to a sewer pumping station / closer to road etc.

Thanks,
NVS

Sewage pumping stn. by its nature (and depending on wind direction) will provide stench of varying degree. Closer to main road or arterial road - detrimental if no landscape screen provided to absorb traffic noise and allow some back yard privacy.

Something to consider is that Route 9 frequently floods. Don't know how that effects the homes, which look beautiful from the road.

Route 9 floods further north - closer to the New Castle city - and Bayview residents can access Rt 13 through Llangolllen or Federal Lane if Rt 9 is unpassable - too bad they don't have connection to Chaddwyck.

Covainvs: no adverse reports about Handler built homes in my 24 year experience - that is not to say you won't find a lemon.

We have a handler built home, they are good priced and are really nice but it is alot of run around. A home that should of took 5 months turned into almost 9 months. They put all their energy into their townhouses and their spec homes. You can't get answers when asked or they don't anwser the phone. We had to make many trips to the main office to complain found out they were just as rude and unhelpful. Bestfield is a little more expensive but your house will be done when they tell you, their crews are out early and on weekends too.

I'm looking at a resale in Bayview Manor and I'm wondering how the area is. Is there a pump station nearby and frequent flooding along with a highway nearby?
