Scary--and I keep reading about instances like this more and more. My husband's dermatologist was in trouble for unsanitary practices last year....though not to this extreme. I have read about a couple tattoo parlors upstate as well that were shut down and may have exposed clients to Hep and HIV.

DH used her a few weeks ago and I said never again. I guess he has to have blood work done. I saw this on WMDT tonight and flipped out that I didn't leave. We waited 40 minutes to be seen by anyone other than the receptionist and we were walking out at the 45 minute mark, when they took us inside to BP and Temp.

The we waited 15 more minutes inside and almost walked out. She had another 2 minutes to show and we were walking and she came in. I was unimpressed with her entire operation and now this. I am not really all that concerned about Hepatitis or HIV given what he had the appointment for and the treatment but......

So sorry to hear this, Nuts. That's awful. I do hope everything is ok with your husband.

I also had reservations about my husband's dermatologist when we were there a few years ago. He was just disorganized and the place didn't seem that clean. He also had marginal doctor/patient social skills. I'm glad he quit going there before the derma was cited and closed down for awhile.

Thanks. I already called the office and the service said I would be able to talk to someone tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for the heads up on this place. Hubby had been going to the original doctor and his practice. Last year he moved out of state and this new group took over. Fortunately he did not have any invasive procedures, just audiogram testing but I have alerted a neighbor who did have a procedure there. Thank you again.

Hubby went to GP today and had a blood test done. Results will take a couple of days. He did not seem concerned but ordered the blood work. After speaking to the Dept of Health they will reinstate her once her sterilization procedures are reviewed again by the BOH. She has one less patient as of yesterday.

I think she has many less patients as of yesterday.

I spoke with the Board of Health because she has only the answering service and no one in her office answering calls. According to the BOH she had previously scheduled a vacation and that is why the office is not taking calls. I will take them at their word. Prior to this hitting DH and I decided we would not be going back there due to the poor office management of time. Emergencies can and do happen, but to have an hour wait for a scheduled appointment is beyond absurd. One would think if the wait were an aberration there would have been an apology.
