Isnt the bone graft after the extraction, before the implant? Is that where the bone graft idea came from? I have one of those but the tooth next to it they performed a root canal.

If the problem is due to periodontitis, then a root canal and a crown will not help anything. It would be like painting your house and hoping that solves your foundation problems.

Yes, the hole from the extraction must be filled to provide a base for the post, the graft does that.
