Could someone please tell me the name of a popular restaurant in (or near) Denver that served pizza and onion rings? Where was it located? This would have been early 1980's. Thanks.

Beau Jo's maybe, but I'm not so sure they have onion rings. Great pizza though! I love to save the crust and slather it with honey.

If that's the place you are thinking of, they have a few locations around Colorado.

I also know that it was in an area of Denver north of Colfax. It wasn't exactly downtown or anything, but I remember lots of trees and the restaurant and parking lot were kind of on a hill or slope, up from the street. Possibly near and older, nicer residential area in Denver.

I don't think it was a chain, at least at the time. They were mainly a pizza restaurant, but they were also famous for their onion rings appetizer, like a huge platter piled high with huge rings. Yes, it all sounds very healthy, doesn't it?

It is not ringing a bell. The only other place that I can think of that served pizza and anything else (besides pasta that is) is Shakeys. They also served fried chicken and potato wedges. I don't think there are any Shakeys left in Colorado.

Restaturants come and go pretty quick, so if it was a one off shop, then the likelihood that it is still around is pretty small. Many restaurants are out of business within 5 years of startup.

This was supposed to be "the best" as far as pizza goes. I know that restaurants come and go, but I thought one that was that good (supposedly) might still be around.

It was definitely a restaurant, though. The sit down first, then order, variety.
