Hi all!

I'm planning to move to Colorado from NYC this summer with my boyfriend. We're looking in the Denver, Boulder area, preferably between them or in them as we don't yet know where we'll be working. I'm a social worker and he's in sales.

I'm looking for suggestions on affordable yet safe neighborhoods. We're just looking to rent an apartment. We love the outdoors and would love to have a view of the mountains. Any advice about neighborhoods would be SO appreciated! Seriously, any and all suggestions you can give would be great. Thank you all so much in advance!!

Alli

Padmapper.com for rentals.

Western areas of Denver, out to Golden and Boulder.

Boulder proper is pricey, I recommend the Denver area.

Tons of threads on apartments in the Denver forum, use the search tool with a few key words.

Areas considered cool for young people are Highlands, West Hignlands, (NOT Highlands Ranch), and most areas surrounding the downtown. Those that live in Denver can advise the names of those areas. Most are quite safe.

What/where is work, what is rent budget, those are key info for getting good advice.

Your uncle needs to learn more about Aurora.

Aurora is 150 square miles. The same size as Denver.
Do you suppose that some parts are really nice and some parts are crap?
Does this Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowed look uniform to you?

How does this rumor still persist after all these years?

I moved to Aurora last summer from Las Vegas, Nv. I still giggle when people say how ghetto Aurora is, if this is ghetto I'll take it.

Consider 11555 E 17th Ave, Aurora, CO 80010 MLS# 1046326 - Zillow
Maybe not ghetto, but slum, yes.

Have you visited yet? What part of New York are you coming from and what part of NY would you like the new place in Denver to compare to?
