Because hipsters drink microbrews? Get a few Fat Tires in me and I become very hip

I agree. Don't lump good beer in with bad taste.

What *is* a hipster?
At this point, hipsters have become what beatniks were in the early 1960s, something of a parody of themselves.

Some people think hipsters are under-30-years-old philistine conformists who only drink Pabst Blue Ribbon, others say hipsters are college-educated, enlightened counter-culture aesthetes who have a well-developed taste for hand-crafted beer.

I think you have a good point, Snikt--hipsters are not exactly synonymous with athletic outdoorsiness, either, but I am another forum that has thousands of young users, and a great, great many of them consider Denver/Boulder to be the land of milk and honey.

It's not.

Most of those microbrew-loving so-called hipsters will actually head home in their GMC Yukon back to a very square suburban existence in Centennial, Castle Rock, and Highlands Ranch after having a "hip" microbrew downtown.

The ranking is true of only a small handful of urban neighborhoods like Golden Triangle, Capitol Hill, and the Highlands. None of which, by the way, have many microbreweries--most of which are located in LoDo.

I think they're confusing yuppies with hipsters. If Denver was as full of hipsters as they say it is, I'd lose my mind.

If you can spell it, you can be one too...

The Hipster Song, with apologies to Maria of West Side Story:

I feel hipster,
Oh so hipster,
I feel hipper and chipper and bright!
And I pitter
Anyone who's not one of us tonight.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so hipster,
I hardly can believe I'm real.

See the hipster in that mirror there:
Who can that hipster be?
Such a hipper car,
Such a hipper bike,
Such a hipper me!

I feel hipster,
Chains and whipster,
Feel like running around in the buff,
For I'm in love
With our pricey new hipster stuff!

Definitely not #4 for me. I haven't worn those in 20 years!

I'm confused then, what am I?

I have a decent job, 29 years old, live in the suburbs (Littleton), spend most of the time in the mountains outdoors but sometimes microbreweries in Denver.

am I a suburbanite, yuppie, hipster, etc..?
