We are moving to the Denver area and need some help! I would like to know what areas have the better school districts (I have a 7, 3 and 7mo old). My husband will be traveling a lot also, so we need to be in a safe neighborhood that is about 30 min drive time to the airport. Please suggestions...

30 minute drive to airport limits you somewhat in where you can be.

Reunion might be a good choice. It's very suburban, mostly new development, and very safe. The schools are Brighton 27-J, which is only ok-ish.

Thornton might be an option too. The further north you go, the newer it is, safer it is, and better the schools are, but it also gets more expensive as you head north. Avoid anything that says "Mapleton School District." The neighborhoods in that area range from very nice to moderately sketchy, but all of the schools are weird (and not very successful) charter experiments.

If he doesn't mind a little bit over a 30 minute commute to DIA and taking a toll road, Broomfield and Superior are also great options. Also very safe, with excellent Boulder Valley School District schools. Superior is pretty expensive, Broomfield also can be, but has a bit wider variety of price points.

Hope this helps.

What is your budget? Are you renting or buying? Do you have a house to sell? What do you like about where you live now? What would you like your new community to have? What is important to you?

If you can answer those, we can help you answer yours.

Not all of Broomfield is in the BVSD. There are actually six districts in Broomfield. The two main districts are BVSD and Adams-12.

Thank you blackmet, that is helpful. We are moving from Georgia and are in no way familiar with Colorado, we will be working with a relocation specialist, but I thought it would be helpful to get some information from locals!!

Thank you.

Is your "relocation specialist" is a person from a relocation company hired by the employer taking 40% or your broker's compensation?
