Hello Everyone,
My husband and I just relocated to CO from NJ this past weekend, as my husband got a new job opportunity here. We are looking to live (rent an apartment) in the Englewood area as it seems to be close to Denver and so far we like what we are seeing of this area.

We are currently staying in a company accommodations in Englewood.

Any advise/ tips on where we should be looking to stay would be great.

Thank you

By Englewood, do you mean the City of Englewood, or the area 6 or 7 miles southeast of the City of Englewood encompassing parts of Greenwood Village, Centennial, the DTC, and unincorporated Arapahoe County than nonetheless use an Englewood zip code designation?

@Hammertime: We are looking within 6-7 miles of Englewood-basically the 80112 zip code.
@Dave: His work address his on Meridian Blvd -DTC ; Trizetto (the company he works for).

80112 is useless info as it is HUGE and not anywhere near the CITY of Englewood
Meridian/Trizetto is very useful (and not near DTC)

Surf to Padmapper.com
use the filters
do NOT search on ZIP code
instead, start your search centered around the intersection of I225 and I25
go south to be closer to work
go north to be closer to Denver

What I'm saying is that Meridian isn't Englewood - it has an Englewood zip code for some nonsensical post office reason.

It can be confusing - some people might think you're looking for places to live in the City of Englewood when in fact you're looking for places around Douglas County/Meridian. I live in downtown Englewood (which is a small city). I just googled it - it's a 14 mile drive from my house to your husbands workplace.

If you like it in CO and your husband's job is stable, I would look to buy immediately.

I never thought that I would be able to be a homeowner when I was living in NJ because of the high property values and high taxes, but it made economic sense for me to buy a place here.

Home prices are higher than they were here relatively speaking, but Denver is one of the "it" places to live these days. I believe home prices will go quite a bit higher before they come down. And the rents in the Denver area are pretty high.

Still, I paid significantly less for my house relative to what it would have cost in my not-high-class town in Central Jersey.
