I always have a good laugh when I see that especially if they have out-of-state license plates.

Just like the person you hate most and you see them drowning in a lake . . . . stop and ask them if they need assistance and then tell them you'll be back in a few minutes . . . then go have beer and celebrate.

Tires are far more important than the vehicle.

Give cars a 5-10 second cushion, relax while driving, go with the flow, and don't use your brakes too much. I'm from Hawaii and ride a scooter here, unless it snows, then I rent a car and use my scooter knowledge about flow to guide me. If I can drive in the snow so can you! Good luck and Drive Safe!

True but those cars already come with good tires and traction for the roads. Bliizzak tires kick ass in the snow, I had them for my BMW 3 Series and now for my Infiniti G37

They come with all season tires which are marginal at best in real winter conditions.

You can learn. My aunt, lived in Cuba until 2012, then came to Florida and moved to Nebraska in December 2013 and spent a year there. She learnt to drive in the ice and snow real fast and did pretty good. She was scared at first, but overcame her fears. Just practise it on an icy empty lot. Have someone who has experience help you. In my opinion, the beauty of winter is worth putting up with occasional tough driving.
