No, they can't. They must be protected from themselves by the government. I expect some sort of CD related bill to be introduced in congress soon.

Apparently the US government believes that a perfect utopia can be legislated into existence, as soon as they can create enough laws to cover EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE. Maybe after 10 or 20 trillion entries in the federal register they will get there.

NOT.

I wish the government would make it illegal for people to still make "Not" jokes.

The only person that I know that moved here (I suspect) for the pot industry is living in a tent.

That must be really affecting the rental market. Does he at least have cable?

I actually personally know 3 yuppie couples that moved here because of the pot. They were looking to move somewhere out Of their respective cities and they all admit the pot helped move Denver to the top of the list. They are high earning couples working in tech.
Anectodal evidence only, but just chiming in

No, but he does have the cops telling him to move constantly.

I think it would be folly to say that everyone came for the pot, but just as much unrealistic to say that pot isn't at least a contributing, if not major factor, in some folks' decision. I doubt we'll ever get hard data on exactly how many people took that into consideration consider the limitations of self-report survey data. Anecdotal evidence, while not the strongest in many circles, should not be discounted as irrelevant.
