Well so far it looks grim for the three incumbents in the DCSD. Also, looks like the JeffCo recall will go through.

Are these 3 DOUGCO incumbents the ones in the Koch Bros realm?

IIRC the JEFFCO effort is to recall board members who are Koch affiliated types. Correct?

FYI for those not aware of what's going on: The billionaire Koch Bros hate public unions, especially teacher unions. Their POV is that all unions are a bunch of commies who need to be fired, replaced by non-union employees and no more collective bargaining with labor. Their father was Fred Koch, founder of the John Birch Society whose hallmark is hating commies, unions, and government in general. The Kochs would close the EPA so their oil refineries could pollute without any control or fines. No one elected the Kochs to a damned thing but they own many politicians, like union-busting Gov Scott Walker of WI, etc. I hate the Kochs with a passion.

Ok, so are we going to go back to recommending Douglas County schools now?

I don't think the damage can be undone overnight. There was a big loss of talent from what I read. Will be interesting to watch the next few years.

We won! Public education beat big money and I could not be happier!

JeffCo will have a corporate reform free board, but the reformers will still have the majority in DougCo. Change will not happen overnight, but I'm confident the new board members will slowly chip away at some of the damage that has been done. Thank you voters!

Partially correct. You make the union a much bigger player than it actually is. The Kochs and their followers do hate unions and DCSD did away with the union a few years ago; but those of us fighting are not attempting to get it back.

I guess that remains to be seen. I wonder how well the 4 conservative members will work with the 3 new members. Seeing what has happened in Jeffco, I predict a lot of 4-3 votes with the conservative group using their slim majority to push through the same agenda.
