I finished my basement in Aurora recently. I would like to get a copy of all the passed inspections for my record keeping. Do I ask the contractor or can I get them from Arapahoe County? Which department should I contact for this information?

1. Have you asked your contractor?
2. Have you asked the county?
3. Have you asked semi-random know nothings on the InnerTubes?

1. Have you ever given one person a bit of advice?
2. Do you think I might have a reason not to contact my contractor?
3. Would you mind butting out of this thread so someone might be helpful?

Which jurisdiction are you in -- City of Aurora or Arapahoe County? First figure that out, then just call the Building Department. Or, I bet you could go on-line and look because most jurisdictions now put inspections on their websites. It's really very easy.

Just had another thought -- if your contractor obtained a permit for the work, it should be posted on-site. The phone number for the Building Department will be on the permit. If your contractor didn't get a permit, then you have a whole Different set of problems.

There should be a permit on display at the property, it is actually a requirement. The permit will have a phone number you can call for copies.

City of Aurora has a website where you can look up historical inspection results. Just need to enter a house address. You can also go to the city center and look up building related plans and permits.

If there is no permit posted then you probably don't want to call the City/County until you find out from the contractor whether there actually is a permit.

Thanks for all your help. I was able to find the information with the link from tnk878. I could never find it on their site.
