I am simply tired of this pay to park trend going on in Denver.
FYI It's not just Denver that has paid parking. Lots of places in Miami do as well.

This is not just greed. Parking at the mall is a genuine problem because of all the development in Cherry Creek North that has been built without sufficient parking.

which is a legitimate concern that doesn't need to be addressed by charging the people who are going to the mall to shop. That's the greedy part - if it was just about stopping the non-mall customers from parking there, validating parking for customers would be a given.

I agree. All business is greedy and if the market won't stomach it, they are going to have to go back to the drawing board. It's looking that way.

Moreover, it's not unusual for customers to shop in both locations, is it? I used to routinely see people crossing the street from the Mall to Cherry Creek North, bags in hand.

What about the upcoming increase in toll lanes in the Denver metro area? Sadly Denver has become too large a city and all those city pains such as toll lanes and paid parking are the result. Our downtown area here in Coeur D'Alene gives two hours free parking, just the right amount of time for a leisurely meal or some shopping.

Business isn't down and Caesars is coming out of BK. They were in it because the PE firms that bought them over leveraged the hell out of them. If you're looking to point a "greed" finger, "Private Equity" is probably a better place to look than casino operators.

As for MGM, there are lots of other options on the Strip. If you're just using the parking they are charging. If it costs them business, I'm sure they will reverse it. It's up to customers to vote with their wallets.

Every public company I've worked for is focused on operating the business in a way that will drive the stock price up, which is essentially driving value for its owners. It is fairly hamstringing as an employee in some cases. With that said, if they stop making money because of a bad decision, they are usually fairly quick to try to fix it because even CEOs have bosses.
