When I lived in Vail and was moving, I donated my couch to Vail Valley Cares and they came and picked it up for free. Any chance there is an organization in Denver that does something similar? I'm getting new living room furniture for my new place and need to get rid of the old stuff. I have an over sized chair and ottoman in good shape and a couch that is so-so (some cat scratches). I did a google search and found some good yelp reviews for paid junk removal services, and will go that route if there is no free option. I just thought it was worth checking first. I didn't know about Vail Valley Cares until I asked on the Colorado board.

Vietnam Vets and Cancer foundation may pick up as well. I've used the apps OfferUp, LetGo, Facebook Marketplace and have 100% success rate posting things for free on Craigslist.

Resurrecting an old thread...

I have some furniture (a glass-top coffee table and a children's twin bed) I want to get rid of. Perhaps it's Covid, but both Habitat for Humanity and Arc thrift won't enter the premises. They require the stuff be outside prior to pickup. That doesn't work for me, being in a midrise condo (in Lakewood).

I don't want to do craigslist or anything similar and have random people coming by and possibly dinging the walls if they try to carry stuff out. Any other suggestions on how to dispose of these items?

Let’s summarize:

“They” won’t come in.
You don’t want “them” in.
You can’t place the items in an area allowing “them” access.

Logically then you must dispose of the items inside your unit so setting them on fire seems to be the only reasonable solution.
