I've been to the Roasting Plant in Manhattan while there for work, but if anyone has kids - and finds themselves downtown/near Campus Martius - this new coffee shop is a must visit. You order a large coffee (e.g. Columbian Hitmen) - a machine sucks out the exact number of beans and ships them across the store in these tubes to be ground - then they get turned into coffee, and viola - you have a freshly brewed cup. I was amazed how many 4-8 yr olds (tourists, no doubt) in NYC were mesmorized by the setup. Net win for downtown!

Well, whenever they need fighter planes in a hurry, going ANYWHERE, they call the post commander at Selfridge. And the military has been dropping in size & funding for some time, despite our numerous combat entanglements. I'm not sure there's much call to build anything new at all in the country.

Right now, yes. But Levin has been there a long time, since I was a kid. There was explosive growth in military installations during that time. The military used to be the biggest consumer of construction services in the US.

That can only be good. Thy may make it all tacky which is their wont, but it cannot hurt. It is not like Millender center is an architectural treasure. Maybe they will make it hip and cools for youngsters.

Anyoen know how much arpatments are there? I would not mind having a place for a nap during the day or a place to crash when I work back to back 18-20 hour days. Plus the pool would be nice.
