not true (see my other post). Let's say if the drug dealers were more about turf, therefore more reluctant to move and the "good" working people were the only ones leaving. Then the population decrease would probably lead to a higher murder rate. Then look at it as if nothing but the "bad" ones moving then the murder rate might decrease. BUT the drug trade in Detroit is much more complex than that so population decrease does not automatically mean increase or decrease in murder rate. honestly population plays a small part. There are many other factors

But sadly Detroit population at its lowest levels since 1967 also.
