Every four years the five churches on Grosse Ile work together to put on the Boar's Head festival a midieval Christmas pageant that involves several hundred people. There is a lot of singing, they act out and sing the 12 days of Christmas, dancing, of course the Christmas story, an orchestra. . . it is a really neat event. If you come early, there are costumed actors, puppeteers, magician, maybe a juggler (not sure about this year). They call the early part "pre-fest"
There are six performances. December: 8 (8 p.m.) 9 (8 p.m.) 10 (2:30 and 8 p.m.)and 11 (4 and 8 p.m.) Pre-fest starts half an hour before the show, so you may want to arrive 45 minute early to get parking and catch pre-fest if you want to.
It is held at the Catholic Church in Grosse Ile. You can look it up on the internet. I think it usually sells out, so you may want to get advance tickets or arrive early.
It is hard to describe, but it is really neat. Everyone that came to it last year found it very impressive.
