I used to frequent that area in the 90's. My dentist was there, my eye doctor Heritage optical in the strip mall and Mammoth was open. That whole strip used to be striving now it's really sad looking.

I use to live in that area many, many years ago.....in fact, I was married at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

I use to live on Sussex, and me and the guy that lived next door to me, use to walk up to Grand River and Greenfield quite a bit. Didn't ever really buy anything......just someplace to go and hang around at and window shop.

Then, my parents bought a house over on Freeland, right by Cooley High School, and so I didn't go up to Gr. River & Greenfield as much as I use to. Started going out to Northland Shopping Center, as it had so much more.

I haven't been back to Detroit in 30 years, so it was nice seeing those old pictures of the old neighborhood!

OMG...I lived on Strathmoor and walked up to Greenfield and Grand River all the time...went to school at St Marys. I was just looking at realtor.com and saw our old family home. $3,000 and it's a brick, 2 family home. Many of the homes are torn down. So sad what happened to that area. Does anyone know if the Great Lakes Theater is still standing?

My very first job was at JC Penney at Grand River and Greenfield. Gosh, I miss that neighborhood. So nice to find all of you on here...it's like visiting home again.

I lived in a couple houses near that area on Grandmont and also on Archdale. I loved that area growing up as a kid. Lot's of great memories.
