As far as I know, no one has mentioned this in the Michigan forum yet. I think this is very neat. Just imagine if a series that became as beloved and as popular as the Sopranos or Sex in the City were filmed in West Bloomfield and if all of your haunts and hangouts were on display, nationally, for everyone to see.

Last night I learned about the new HBO series, Hung. It's about a divorced, down-and-out high school basketball coach and gym teacher who is, well, hung like a horse. After a fire damages his uninsured house, he begins to contemplate ways of earning extra cash. After attending a seminar for weekend wannabe entrepreneurs, he and a woman he banged decide to go into the "Happiness Consultant" business by leveraging his most valuable asset, with the woman serving as his pimp and liaison to the Detroit area's wealthy and horny women.

I watched the second episode last night ("Great Sausage, or Can I Call You Dick?" --great name, eh?) and it featured shots of downtown Detroit. I also searched the Detroit News for articles about the show and read that the protagonist's house is on Middle Straits Lake off of Colony Drive. (If you shop at the Walmart on Pontiac Trail and Haggerty and you want to drive past the house, it's less than a mile-and-a-half away, but consult a map site for directions.) He also coaches basketball at "West Lakefield High School", which is, presumably, West Bloomfield High School. (I don't know if it's actually filmed at West Bloomfield High.) Here is a link to the Detroit News article:

I believe the school scenes are filmed at a brand new (never been used) high school in Howell

Hmm, MI/Detroit finally gets a series and it is about prostituting. Ironic. I suppose it would have been too much to get an ER or even a Nip/Tuck...LOL.

It's better to host a risque HBO series than it is to host another mediocre ER knockoff. It garners a higher profile merely by its being on HBO. It's on the same network that brought us The Sopranos, Sex in the City, and Rome, which is excellent company to be in.

LOL. Well, I don't get HBO so I guess I will have to wait to check it out on DVD. Watched SITC and it was good, but NYC is exciting and a place some dream to live. Hope it works out to help Detroit anyway, Lord knows it needs it!

I know the premise might turn alot of people off but this is actually a pretty good show. And yes it's tres cool to see all of the local haunts on the show.

I haven't seen the show, but know parts of it was filmed at Clarkston Junior High School.
