A1C of 6.7 isn't very high. With the rash and "feeling better" after only two days, I wonder if you don't have a gluten intolerance which may have been causing you issues.

My DH's recent A1C was 11 so 6.7 is slightly over but not very high. He's on Glimepiride with metformin and his sugars went from 350 to 150. He also lost weight. He's finally taking control of his diabetes. We go back January 9th to see the doctor again. If he wants to end up like his dad or my uncle who both died from diabetic complications I told him he better get control. This is his last chance. he's only 44.

I was just told I have PRE-diabetes today. My hemoglobin is 6.1. Is that the same as the AC1?

This is all new to me, so I know I have to start doing some research on all this.

It's referred to by several names, also called "hemoglobin A1c." Here's a good place to start your research: A1C test Overview - Mayo Clinic

oldgardener, thanks. I plan to probably start taking this barberry root extract vitamin I found out about yesterday. I'm all about taking all-natural remedies first. Do you think I should try it for my pre-diabetese? Here's the thread I started:
