Suggestion for a meal replacement bar
That will actually work for a few hours. I don't make a habit of it but occasionally for breakfast or lunch I am in a hurry and need something to eat on the run and in the car. The actual Protein bars (the ones that were one of the first to come out, don't remember who makes them) actually makes me feel sick after I eat them, perhaps too much sugar? I've tried the special k and south beach diet ones and they are ok but don't really keep me from being hungry for a while.
Just wondering if there is a kind that has high protein and fiber, low sugar but tastes good and is actually good for you. I would love to find one that is free of preservatives and all the other artificial junk but it does seem like that might be an oxymoron although I have seen organic ones.

Look for ones that are HIGH in protein... stuff like the south beach diet and special k.. are not really going to work mostly..
High protein bars may taste a little odd, but once you find one you like..
some people LOVE the Detour bars, i'm not a fan of those.. Check your local vitamin shop to see if they have some on sale/clearance to check.. make sure its a protein bar and not a power bar.
My expierence and opinion is the protein bar will fill you up longer because protein fills you up faster than a power bar full of granola... for energy I would deff go with a power bar though.. (ie Shopping etc.)
You can also make your own with the protein powders, peanut butters, peanuts, raisens, etc... then bag them up/freeze them/etc..

Kashi crunch, maybe?
9g protein and 6g fiber. Although, it does have quite a bit of sugar, from what I remember.

I try to avoid them, but one I like is Detour. It tastes like Snickers, has real chocolate and peanuts, not the disgusting fake kind, and doesn't have sugar alcohols.

i suffer from low blood sugar, and i trick i use, which doc recommended was boiled eggs.
i always have them handy, as well as carnation instant breakfast, both are high in protien to keep you energetic and alert, satisfied and also good for you. especially the egg, no perservitives there as well as no sugar!!
protien is so good at keeping you from crashing later verses power bars and energy drinks. hope whatever you try, it works for you

Actually both of those brands have some good high-protein bars. I love both of them and always have them in my stash at work. I also like the ZONE bars.
