Nothing for an animal lover is more difficult than defining that line where a loved pet's suffering is more than its joy. Even a year later, I still feel a tug at my heart when I think of our dear Bandit. We also are facing it again as our Gator is starting to experience serious health issues. Its so hard not to be selfish and to just keep them going for our sake rather than theirs. I know you will come to the right decision without our telling you what you should do. If its any comfort, there are many of us here that know how hard it is and how much it hurts.
Comfort, condolences and hugz from our home to yours.
Thank you so much for all your kind words! I can't even tell you all how much this means and how much it's helping. We adopted Cleo 11 years ago from the shelter when she was 4 years old. She's a great dog.
I'm so sorry to hear that Cleo's time may be drawing near. I'm sure you have provided her with a full and wonderful dog life. Many warm ((hugs)) to you and Cleo.
My prayers are with you and with Cleo......the closing details of love are so hard....everyone including yourself and Cleo know it is the right thing......still its hard. It is a pain most have shared....but each time the pain is so intensly personal...it feels as if it can swallow you up.....and you are alone. You are not alone. The mystery is that we are all connected.....people and our dogs....even when we feel so far apart. Peace, You are being a good friend.
I'm taking Cleo to the vet on Friday. She seems to be slowing down more every day. I'll see what the vet says. I'll keep you posted...
