All chocolate labs should be named "Buddy." I also like "Rolo" (as in the chocolatey candy of the same name).

If you want to rhyme with Big, you could name him "Sig" short for Sigmund...our neighbors dog has that name but we all call him Siggy...I love really different dog names

Wellllllllllllllll............... because of the bad snow we received Thursday night & Friday AM, the Foster Mom & my friend couldn't make it to our house. We live up a huge hill. Front wheel drive vehicles couldn't make it.
So we had to cancel. Going to try for next Sat.
My other friend who is a major Lab person brought over her 2 choclate babies today. They were adorable.

Some of those names were good... but don't stop. Keep posting your name ideas.

Thanks everyone.

I can't believe I forgot this one!

A friend of mine in California has a female chocolate lab. Her name is Koko Moe.

Like Kokomo, the Beach Boys song.

Get the chocolate part? Koko. Cocoa.

Actually, the Moe part makes it more perfect for a male, but I think it's an adorable name for her.

Please keep us posted and, if you adopt this doggie, let us know the chosen name? Labs are my favorite breed. We almost shopped for a choc. lab puppy but a visit to the shelter brought a very needy yellow lab/pitbull into our lives instead.

Dog names? I like to get to know the dog first before naming him or her so the name fits. Remember you'll be calling it a lot so you have to like the sound, too. I bought a baby book of names, too, for ideas. Like DandJ's Koko Moe suggestion!

We also get to know the dog first, but having a few ideas of names in our head doesn't hurt.
One of those names mentioned might just click with him, you never know.

There is a man that called about the Chocolate lab... he said he has a nice fenced yard & a beagle hound mix. His Chocolate lab just passed away from cancer & his beagle mix needs a new playmate/Brother.
The man said he has property in the country with several acres, that he, his family & dogs go camping there quite a bit in the Spring/Summer & Fall. There is a nice River that goes thru his property also that his dogs love to swim in.
Sounds like a good life for a lab.
I almost told my friend to check this guy out, just in case we don't take this big Choc, boy.

I know we won't have a problem with our rotts & the Choc. lab. It all depends on what he thinks of the rotts. Our neighbors yellow lab is always here, so the two of them would have to get along. If it works & they all get along... it would be 3 males & 1 female. We will have to see.

If we do keep this BIG Chocolate lab ....he is 100 pounds ya know.
If we chose the name that one of you mentioned...would this make that person Chocolate Labs Aunt ??? LOL...

My neighbor back in Jersey had the sweetest, huge chocolate lab. His name was Jake! I think that is a perfect name for a chocolate lab!
