Just heard about a photographer who takes photos of shelter animals. She's been able to increase adoptions by taking more appealing shots of them:

To snag homes, shelter pets get glam makeovers - TODAY Pets & Animals - TODAY.com

It's amazing how much more the animals grab you with the improved photographers. I'm not a great photographer myself, but if any of you are, please consider doing this as a great volunteer gig!

The photos of shelter animals at Best Friends in Utah are pure art. Great work for the animals. Thank you for posting.

Talking Glamour paws!

I am so happy to see more photographers doing this!! It really does make a difference

I used to volunteer at a Rescue which specialized in Molosser & other Giant breeds & I used to do the photography for them. I totally loved it! I tried to capture the dogs personality & show their fun side

I wanted to share a few of my shots, these dogs were not easy to do "Glamour" shots of though, they would have probably eaten a pearl necklace if I had attempted to put on them! Lol

This last goof ball, we were fostering..... & failed miserably! He now lives with us!!

Loved the photo's some made me laugh...the pittie with the beautiful blue grey eyes made me cry (can't for the life of me figure out how they gave Dude, up?) But then, I don't know how you give up...any dog or critter for that matter...

I love the idea of getting the photo's of the animals, capture the real animal, not just the animal behind bars. I love seeing their personality coming through, what amazing pictures!!!

It was an adorable photo that showed a lot of personality that got Chaos from the high kill shelter in Texas to my loving home in Calif. One look at that photo and it screamed I am your dog! Had she been cowering behind bars like so many are in shelter photos I probably would have not even taken a second look
