My dog licks disgusting things, sniffs butts and piles of feces, and has been known to eat a dead cat that had been sitting in the hot Summer sun for a week, becoming a cat version of jerky treats. For some strange reason I'm not concerned with keeping her in a bubble by not exposing her to other dogs while buying kibble at Petco.
I don't take them to stores and make everyone deal with my animals even tho I know they will not bite anyone...
No one knows that when they see a dog that is not theirs.
Also a lot of people say what I just did, then their dogs bites a kid,
they respond, But, fluffy never bit anyone before.
My dogs have been proofed, so I do know how they will respond.
Children are not dogs, stop comparing them.
A child can not kill a kid by biting their head or neck.
If a kid bites a kid, no rabies cert is necessary, quarantining the dog, I mean kid or euthanizing the kid I mean dog.
Get a clue, please.
A dog is much more dangerous than a kid.
Does a kid lift it's leg to pee?
A male dog can and right on the groceries
Not all dogs are vaccinated.
Vaccines do wear off and are not a 100% guarantee your dog will not get sick.
When I go to a store, I don't want to have to deal with your dog, it doesn't belong there.
My dog doesn't belong in a PET STORE? If you believe that, I think you're the one who needs to get a clue - and stay out of pet shops, for goodness sakes. And I was only "comparing" babies to dogs in terms of the sickness thing, since I don't want your child's strep throat any more than I want my dog catching something. I work around children all day, and have caught more illnesses from them than your dog will catch from stores in a lifetime.
Keep up with your judgmental and rude attitude, I don't really give a crap. My dog, my decision, and only the business owners get to say who or what is allowed inside. Btw, you didn't answer my question regarding where your dog DOES go. Do you just keep him at home 24/7, or what??
P.S. I don't think anyone (least of all me) thinks a dog belongs in a grocery store... in fact, I have personally complained when people used to bring "pocket dogs" into the grocer near my old house. So what does your comment about peeing on groceries have to do with anything? Not that my dog would do that anyway, seeing as he's been 100% potty trained since like 3 months old.

LOL... good point!
I think some people take paranoia to a new level, and don't even realize they're doing these dogs a misservice in the meantime. My dog is extremely well-socialized with humans, partly because I don't keep him sheltered... dogs who aren't allowed anywhere but their home turf are the ones you need to look out for, IMO.
You're talking little tiny Paris Hilton type "keep in my purse" dogs, right? I can't imagine someone walking into Nordstrom with a German Shepherd.
The Nordstrom at Stanford Mall (near me) allows dogs of all sizes, but usually it's just pocket dogs. I tried taking Rudy there once, back when he was a puppy, and he was scared of the escalator. Didn't try that again, and for the most part I only take him into pet shops.
I have taken my dog into PetSmart once to fit a collar and another time I took one into Tractor Supply to fit a muzzle. I do not take them into the store just for the sake of taking them into a store.
Wow, I thought a dog in a grocery store in this country would be an aberration but apparently not.
Never seen that happen here in LA.
