Odd thing, that Craigslist. Anyway.
The rescue dogs we are visiting are a Belgium malinois, and a German Shepard.
We had the best 12 years with our dobie. Husband had so much fun training him, enrolling him in classes, working with him etc.. And we had so many great years of a well behaved, socialized, protective, fun family member. Wish we could have had more years with him.
Husband plans on doing the same with the next one.
I will look on that sight no kudzu. Thx
I think someone already mentioned petfinder. Theres also hoobly.com , ebayclassifieds.com , there are a few other "craigslist-like" sites. On these sites its a lot of byb's, but some shelters and rescues post ads also. Be careful when dealing with people from online, just have common sense.
It is not 100 percent proof but usually when I respond to a craigslist ad and ask questions the response that they give tells me how reputable and safe it is. Not just for pets but in general with craigslist. So if you an come up with a list of questions and see what response you get. Anyone who is adopting a dog out should be more then happy to answer questions and I would think would want to ask some of the possible adopter.
I hope one of the two dogs you're going to see will work out and my condolences on your Dobe.
One of my dogs was a craigslist puppy. I've used craigslist quite a lot over the years for various things.
A note on CL: it's very common (and very rude IMO) that people do not delete their posts once they've found what they are looking for. They just ignore responses. I rarely pay attention to ads that are over a day or two old for that reason.
I always put "I will delete this ad when I find/sell whatever, if you're reading this I am still looking/selling, thanks," or words to that effect.
Here is our new girl we rescued a few hours ago... Why the late post??
Because I get to take her out when she cries for the foster mom she just left.
She is very laid back, smooches a lot, and is very gentle.
We are ecstatic!!!!
I am really on the fence about driving to Arkansas and rescuing the Belgium. Husband says it's up to me.
Finally asleep...she didn't want to be crated.

For me, that's a very tricky proposition. I wouldn't do it. Maybe listen to your intuition?
If you end up doing it, and I assume you have the experience, I'd suggest taking BOTH OF THEM for a very long walk together before entering your home (obviously now with the second one). Maybe you with one, husb with the other. Hopefully, it will create a bond and pack relationship.
Well our application needs to updated now, plus we haven't heard back if it's been approved.
So we might have more time to sleep on it before making that trek and decision.
Thank you, we think whe is pretty. As well
congrats on your new baby. She is beautiful. How old? i have a good friend who just got 4 year old GSD only half a day after she was turned in. My friend is happy as a clam as she was waiting 6 years for just the right dog and the right time. She is a teacher and needed the summer to bond and train and the dog was available the day after school was out.
