I knew a lady that had a Newfoundland, she loved that breed...She decided to foster a Newfie..
fell in love and adopted it...that was the beginning and end of her fostering dogs.
My sweet girl passed away in March and I have been dogless ever since. I found a small breed rescue that does not have a problem with my not having a fence as I am have had dogs for the past 27 years and leash walk. Also, for that reason I request an older foster dog. There is one right now that needs a home and if everything works out I will have my first foster soon. She is 8 yrs old and shy.
Edited to add...this group covers medical and flea/tick/heartworm treatment. All I have to provide is the love, toys, food, treats and bedding. Sadly, they
do not allow the dog to sleep in bed with foster parents. It makes sense because the new adopting home might not want a dog sleeping with them so no bad habits to break.
