I almost feel guilty I would rather watch a Puli rather than Shawn White on the half pipe. Maybe it's pathetic Bob Costas.

No I really love WKC it's so much fun to watch. So many great dogs.

Colorado you're not alone, I won't watch the Olympics but I will watch the dogs. I knew someone who tried training for the Olympics when he was young, it was so difficult, he had to live, eat, sleep and breathe his sport (swimming). As a teenager he had no life and barely had time for school, forget a social life. That kind of put me off the 'sport' and Olympics in general then the idea that people 'fail' in seconds? Really? Too competitive for me. I like the beauty of what they do but sheesh the pressure is beyond my ability to stomach.

Now dem doggies, they have a blast. They have NO CLUE and couldn't care less about winning. They live for that cookie and pat on the head. The applause and adoration of the crowd. I'm smiling just thinking about that. And they're ALL beautiful and winners to me.

That really was fun to watch. Interesting, too. Even caught a couple of reruns from last year and the year before over the weekend.

I'm surprised there's only one judge to make the big decision. And, I liked how the announcers pointed out that they are just regular pets like you and I have, and that some of the dogs who have 'jobs' actually do what their breeds were intended for.

I missed part of the 2nd night with the early showing time on USA, but they will probably replay it.

I thought this year they were allowing muts?

That was for the agility portion. They can't really have mixed breeds in the main show. What criteria would they judge the dogs on? There are no breed standards for them to decide which dog is the best from their group.

My feelings exactly. I haven't watched a minute of the Olympics, but, I watched the WKC shows.
